I cannot tell if you left half of the hilt cut out or it is that short, eighter way, you have to replace the sword. Paint cannot draw a straight line and is pretty obvious from this distance. I would also make the edge white to emphasize it. Cannot say if it functions or looks worse to add thorns to the blade. It looks like fur. I would also make a thinner blade compared to the grip, but that is me.

You felt right about the width of the image compared to the sword and the gem looks fine.
